Two bodies recovered from a Fresno canal at two different locations, authorities say

Two bodies were recovered from the canal at two different locations Sunday afternoon in Fresno.

The Fresno Police Department responded around 5:34 p.m. at East Church and South Evelyn avenues, near South Clovis Avenue of reports of a body in the canal.

Fresno County workers were already in the area and located the man on a trash conveyor belt, police said.

At 6 p.m., deputies with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office responded to a canal at North Hayes and Whitesbridge avenues about a person in the canal.

Deputies arrived and recovered the body from the canal.

No other details were available on either incident.
