Is a trip to Tulare County worth free food? These restaurants, including Habit, say yes

In less than a decade, Nick the Greek has opened 60 of its quick-service Greek food restaurants.

Well, technically 59, depending on when this is being read.

The 60th location — on Mooney Boulevard in Visalia — opens Tuesday with a celebration that includes free lunch.

Yes, the restaurant is offering one complimentary entree per person, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

“To participate, guests simply arrive during the allotted time,” the restaurant said in a release.

Simple.

Three cousins, Big Nick, Little Nick and Baby Nick, opened the restaurant chain in Northern California in 2014, making a variety of pita dishes, along with gyros (pronounced “yeer-oh”) and souvlakis. Nick the Greek has grown into a regional franchise with spots up and down the state and in Arizona, Kansas, Nevada, Texas and Utah.

And more locations are coming soon.

A Fresno location opened on North Blackstone Avenue, near Red Robin in the Universal Park shopping center in October, and was one of two dozen new restaurants slated to open in Northern California alone.

Details: Nick the Greek is at 718 S. Mooney Blvd. in Visalia.
