Three men killed in collision with semi in Fresno County identified by coroner

CHP

Three men were killed Thursday morning following a two-vehicle collision in Fresno County.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the collision at 5:08 a.m. at Highway 33 and Manning Avenue.

The CHP said a Toyota was driven by a 53-year-old man going west on Manning approaching Highway 33, when he appeared to fail to stop at the stop sign and collided with a semi-truck that was going north on Highway 33.

The semi collided on the driver’s side of the Toyota. The driver and another man in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center where he later died.

All three men were from Raisin City and were identified by the coroner as Juan Cortez, 53; Kevin Cruz Montesinos, 21 and Amancio Hildago.

The driver of the semi truck was not injured.

Alcohol and drugs don’t appear to be a factor at this time, CHP said.
