A man was killed Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle collision in Fresno County.

The California Highway Patrol reported Thursday that the collision occured at 5:15 p.m. on Millerton Road, west of Winchell Cove Road.

A man was driving a Toyota Tundra west on Millerton while a 29-year-old man from Fresno was in a Toyota Rav-4 driving east on Millerton approaching the Tundra.

The CHP said the Tundra driver didn’t negotiate a curve to the left, allowing his vehicle to leave the road. He attempted to correct his direction and swerved to the left, entering the eastbound lane directly in front of the Rav-4.

The front of the Tundra struck the left side of the Rav-4, leaving three people with major life-threatening injuries. The three people in the Rav-4 were taken to the hospital for treatment, and the driver of the vehicle later died.

The driver of the Tundra was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Alcohol and drugs don’t appear to be a factor in the collision, CHP said.

The investigation is ongoing.
