Man identified as motorcyclist killed in Fresno crash, coroner says. Police seek SUV

A man on a motorcycle who died when he collided with what was believed to be an SUV was identified Monday by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

Jason Missakian, 44, of Fresno died in the crash about 3:50 p.m. Friday, the coroner said.

Fresno police said several witnesses called who observed Missakian traveling at a high rate of speed before he was thrown from the bike in a crash on Maple Avenue just south of Belmont Avenue.

The motorcycle continued to travel south on Maple without the rider, police said. By the time officers arrived, the motorcyclist was dead at the scene.

Police said they are looking for a dark-colored SUV that was turning onto Maple from a side street when it collided with the motorcycle.
