Three dead and three more injured in two-vehicle crash near Orange Cove, CHP says

Three people died Thursday afternoon in a head-on two-vehicle crash south of Orange Cove.

The collision happened at 2:10 p.m. at South Hills Valley Road and Manning Avenue on the border of Fresno and Tulare counties.

CHP officer Michael Mota said a maroon Honda van was traveling north on Hills Valley when the vehicle collided with a red Dodge truck that was going south. Mota said the truck veered into the path of the van.

Both drivers and a passenger in the van were killed, Mota said. All of the victims were male.

Three more people in the van suffered serious injuries, with one airlifted to a hospital.

The intersection was closed as authorities investigated the collision.

Cal Fire/Fresno County Fire, Tulare County Fire Department and the Reedley Firefighters Association assisted the Orange Cove Fire Protection District at the scene.
