Traveling to Shaver Lake in the next few days? Expect delays or closures. Here’s why

Traffic Alert

Getting to the Shaver Lake area this weekend will take a little bit of time.

Caltrans announced on Friday that a one-way traffic on Highway 168 between the Stevenson Creek Dam and Sierra Marina will begin at 6 a.m. Saturday through Tuesday.

Traffic will be directed to utilize the westbound lanes of Highway 168. Traffic control will be in effect 24 hours a day for the duration of this closure, Caltrans said.

Expect delays up to 20 minutes and additional travel time to get to Shaver Lake.

Crews will be conducting one-way traffic control during this time with the use of flagging personnel in the work zone. Caltrans advises to obey flagging personnel and pay close attention to construction vehicles.

Closures may continue for longer periods of time if necessary due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur during roadway construction procedures.
