Update: Pedestrian killed in collision with car in Fresno ID’d. A bystander was arrested

A Fresno man who was struck and killed by a car Monday night near Ashlan and Blythe avenues was identified by the Fresno County Coroner Tuesday as Singh Mann, 64.

The collision involving Mann, a pedestrian who was walking, took place about 5:45 p.m. as a driver was westbound on Ashlan at a speed of about 30 mph when he struck victim, police said. Mann died at the scene, despite efforts by a nurse who joined efforts to save his life.

A man not involved in the collision was taken into custody by police after reportedly refusing to leave the scene of the crash and interfering with the investigation.
