No one hit Halloween Powerball drawing, but a $790K ticket sold at Visalia gas station
There were more than 750,00 winning tickets sold in California for the $1 billion Powerball Halloween night — even though no one hit the jackpot.
The bulk of those tickets (nearly 500,000, according to the California Lottery) just matched the Powerball number.
That’s still a $4 win and enough to get you back in the game for the next drawing, Wednesday night. The jackpot is now estimated at $1.2 billion.
Two tickets came close to the big prize, including one sold at the Chevron station at Walnut Avenue at Akers Street in Visalia. A second ticket was sold at the 777 Market on La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles, the California Lottery said.
The tickets matched the five standard numbers, but not the Powerball, for a prize of $790,446.

In July, during the multi-state Mega Millions drawing, a Vons grocery store in Fresno sold a winning ticket worth $4.2 million. That ticket matched the five stand numbers, but not the Mega number. The jackpot for that drawing was $1.3 billion, which remains one of the largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.
