Cynthia Vang, 30, of Fresno, was identified Friday as the woman who died in a collision Thursday on Church Avenue between Marks and Hughes avenues in unincorporated southwest Fresno, according to the Fresno County Coroner.

The California Highway Patrol, which is investigating the crash, said the collision took place about 3:15 p.m. when the small Kia was hit from the back by a Cadillac Escalade, and from the front by a GMC van.

The CHP said a man and the woman were inside the Kia on westbound Church while waiting to make a left turn into their residence when the Escalade rear-ended them, causing the Kia to go into the lane of oncoming traffic and directly into the path of the GMC. The Kia was crushed from behind by the Escalade and severely damaged in the front from the head-on collision with the GMC van.

Neither the driver of the Kia nor the occupants of the the other two vehicles were hospitalized.
