Fresno shooting: Man shot in front of his home in possible domestic violence incident
A 31-year-old man on Friday night was found shot in front of his home in the area west of Highway 99.
The incident happened just before 7:30 p.m. on the 4200 block of North Kate Lane.
Fresno Police said the man was struck at least once in the upper body and was discovered lying in the driveway of a house near the intersection of Cornelia and Ashlan avenues. The victim was taken to Fresno Community Regional Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.
Fresno Police Lt. Brian Valles said the man may have been involved in a disturbance with a woman who lives at the home. Officers believe there may have been a domestic incident, Valles said.
Police added that prior to the shooting, a dark colored Chevy Tahoe drove into the area, and words were exchanged between the “individuals” in the Tahoe and the victim.
Valles said the Tahoe was seen leaving on surveillance video going south from the location then returned to the scene before taking off in a west direction.
No arrest have been made.
But Valles said they believe a shoe from one of the individuals inside the suspected vehicle was left on the roadway.
“We have promising leads,” Valles said. “I believe they’ll be able to make this case within the next couple days because we have good leads in this incident that includes video surveillance.”
Valles said the victim was talking to officers at the hospital.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
