Coroner identifies Fresno man found dead face down in a northeast Fresno ponding basin

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday afternoon identified the victim found in a ponding basin Monday afternoon as 34-year-old Lenzo Seamster of Fresno.

Seamster was found in the basin located on the 4200 block of Winery Avenue just north of Ashlan Avenue.

Witnesses spotted the body face down in the water around 3:30 p.m. and called 911.

Officers also were not sure how long the body had been in the ponding basin.

The woman found in a canal Tuesday has been identified, the coroner’s office said in an update Wednesday, though it noted that the coroner is still attempting to notify her family.
