Blaze at Fresno complex displaces tenants in 5 units, fire official says. No injuries
The tenants of five apartment units in a central Fresno complex were displaced after a blaze damaged the living spaces Tuesday, Fresno Fire Department said.
Flames were reported in a one second-story unit about 8:40 a.m. in the complex on the south side of Sussex Way southwest of Ashlan Avenue and Fresno Street.
Department spokesperson Jonathan Lopez said no injuries were reported but several units had to be evacuated after fire crews arrived. He could not immediately say how many people would be displaced temporarily.
Five fire engines and two ladder trucks arrived on scene to knock down the flames, he said.
The second-story unit with the most damage had its windows smashed out and its insides charred.
