Teenager who was pulled from the water at Bass Lake on Saturday did not survive
A 17-year-old rescued Saturday from the waters of Bass Lake has died, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.
Kayla Gates, the sheriff’s public information officer, said the office got an emergency call about 7:45 p.m. of a teenager who had gone into the water near Falls Beach at Bass Lake but did not resurface.
Rescue personnel arrived and removed him from the water about 8:30 p.m., Gates said.
“Lifesaving measures were immediately performed on scene. The patient was transported by ground ambulance to an awaiting helicopter for transfer to a regional hospital for treatment where he was later declared deceased,” she said.
