Fresno man identified by coroner as victim in fatal two-vehicle crash on Highway 180

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified a man killed in a two-vehicle traffic collision on Highway 180 between Fresno and Kerman on Friday night.

Fresno resident Roberto Hernandez, 40, was identified as the driver killed when the Honda Civic he was driving crashed into a pickup truck.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 8:25 p.m. when Hernandez was traveling east on 180 approaching South Dickenson Avenue.

For an unknown reason, the Honda crossed into the westbound lane and collided with a pickup truck.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and was cooperative with officers.
