Coroner ID’s pedestrian killed after getting hit by car on Highway 41 in Fresno

A Fresno man who died after being struck by a car on Highway 41 has been identified.

The Fresno County Corner’s Office on Monday said the pedestrian killed on Tuesday, April 12, was 42-year-old Jeremy Baker.

Baker was walking across Highway 41 on the southbound side north of Friant Road when a 2009 Cadillac came along at about 11 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

The Cadillac, driven by 19-year-old Elmer Villatorro of Fresno, struck and killed Baker, the CHP said.

The front driver’s side hit the pedestrian, throwing him into the center divider, the CHP said. The driver and his 17-year-old passenger, who wore seat belts, did not report any injuries, the CHP said.

The coroner’s office reported that Baker was homeless.
