Pedestrian killed on Highway 41 in Fresno, CHP says. He was thrown into the divider

A pedestrian walking on Highway 41 was killed after being struck by a car on Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The pedestrian, whose age is unknown, was crossing Highway 41 on the southbound side north of Friant Road when a 2009 Cadillac came along at about 11 p.m., CHP said.

The Cadillac, driven by 19-year-old Elmer Villatorro of Fresno, struck the pedestrian, killing him, CHP said.

The front driver’s side hit the pedestrian, throwing him into the center divider, CHP said.

The driver and his 17-year-old passenger, who wore seatbelts, did not report any injuries, CHP said.
