Fresno woman, 43, ID’d as person killed after being hit by a car on Blackstone Avenue

A woman struck and killed by a vehicle in north Fresno was identified Sunday.

The name, age and city of residence of 43-year-old Judy Fisher of Fresno was released by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

The incident happened at 10:52 p.m. Friday at Blackstone and Sierra avenues. A vehicle traveling north on Blackstone struck Fisher, who appeared to jump in front of the car, according to Fresno police.

Officers arrived and found Fisher on the roadway and attempted life-saving measures before she was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver remained on the scene and was cooperative with officers. Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor, police said Friday.

Police said it appeared that Fisher had darted out in front of the car as the light turned green.
