Update: Kingsburg man killed in solo motorcycle crash in Fresno County orchard
A motorcycle rider died in a solo crash in a Fresno County orchard Sunday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened just before 6 p.m. off Fowler Avenue just north of Barrett Avenue outside of Laton, according to CHP spokesman Mike Salas.
Salas said the motorcyclist was riding north on Fowler when he lost control of the motorcycle and overturned on the westbound shoulder. The rider was ejected onto the shoulder and landed in an orchard. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP on Monday morning reported the victim was a 52-year-old man from Kingsburg. He has not yet been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

The CHP on Monday morning also reported the victim was a riding a 2001 Indian Scout.
According to Salas, the motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet but alcohol is suspected of playing a factor in the collision.
