Fresno rider hits parked car, dies in crash, police say. He was on a residential street

A motorcycle rider died Sunday night after hitting a parked car in central Fresno while not wearing a helmet, police said.

The man was traveling at a high rate of speed on a neighborhood street near Swift Avenue and Ninth Street at around 10:30 p.m., officer Felipe Uribe said.

UPDATE: Victim identified by coroner

He struck a parked truck at the end of a street in the neighborhood northeast of Millbrook and Ashlan avenues, police said.

He was taken to an area hospital before being pronounced dead, police said. The rider’s name has not yet been made public.
