Fresno woman killed in hit-and-run identified. Investigators looking for ‘lifted’ truck
The Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Thursday afternoon identified the woman killed in a hit-and-run collision in Fresno.
Fresno resident Rochelle Rodriguez, 33, was killed in a collision near Valentine and Floradora avenues around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Emergency responders rendered life-saving efforts on Rodriguez, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, the California Highway Patrol said.
The CHP reported officers believe the woman was the victim of a hit-and-run involving a dark-colored GMC Sierra truck model from between 1999 and 2007 that had tinted windows and headlight lenses that were also dark, according to a news release.
The CHP said it was not clear why the woman was in the roadway or what caused the crash.
Investigators believe the truck would have damage from the crash on the left front bumper and headlight, CHP said. A witness described the truck as “lifted,” according to the release.
