Man dies after his truck flips on Madera County road. CHP suspects alcohol was involved

A 45-year-old man was killed on Sunday when the truck he was driving overturned on a dirt road in Madera County.

The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on a private road near Avenue 21 and Road 1, according to the California Highway Patrol. The man, who was driving a 2006 Nissan truck, lost control and left the roadway, Sgt. Lincoln McKenna said.

He wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from and pinned under the truck, the CHP said.

An 18-year-old passenger, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries.

The CHP suspects alcohol contributed to the crash, McKenna said.
