Fans of JoJo Siwa waited more than two years for the pop star singer and dancer to maker her way to Fresno’s Save Mart Center.
Siwa’s Nickelodeon-sponsored D.R.E.A.M. tour originally announced a date at the arena way back in 2019, just months after the then 16-year-old performed at the O2 Arena in London (she was the youngest artist to headline the venue).
Siwa was slated to perform at the Save Mart Center in March of 2020, just as the coronavirus pandemic began to close venues and disrupt national touring shows.
That show was ultimately rescheduled for Thursday night.
The Fresno date was the fifth night of the rescheduled tour, which now ends in New Orleans in March. Siwa had a meet and greet with VIP fans before the performance, which included an opening set from country pop singer — and one-time family band — Belles. The night was singing, dance showcase, full of Siwa’s signature neon and glitter.
In the past two years Siwa has been transitioning from a teenage YouTube and reality TV influence to full-on celebrity star. She was runner-up on the 30th season of “Dancing with the Stars.” In December, she sat in as a guest host on the “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
