Man walking in Fresno road hit by car, rushed to hospital. Here’s where driver was located

A man walking in the roadway in northwest Fresno was rushed to the hospital early Wednesday after he was struck by a car. The motorist was located several blocks away.

The crash happened at 6 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Shaw Avenue east of Palm Avenue. Police and sheriff’s deputies quickly arrived and blocked the roadway.

Emergency workers reported the victim was breathing as he was loaded into an ambulance.

The California Highway Patrol took over the incident and reported that the driver was contacted by police at Shaw and Glenn avenues.

The lanes will remain blocked as officers investigate the incident.
