Cyclist killed in collision with truck at busy Fresno intersection next to Woodward Park
A cyclist was killed Wednesday in a collision with a truck in a busy intersection next to Woodward Park.
The fatal incident happened around 1:30 p.m. at Friant Road and East Audubon Drive in north Fresno, Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega said.
The cyclist was a man in his 50s; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was on his bicycle when the truck turned west on Audubon from southbound Friant and collided with him, Trueba Vega said.
Police were trying to determine the direction of the bicyclist.
Officers were also evaluating the driver to see if they were under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Westbound Audubon was closed for the investigation.
