Fresno motorcyclist crashes into a tree and dies. Coroner’s office releases ID

A motorcyclist was killed Monday evening in a single-vehicle collision in northeast Fresno.

The collision happened at 10 p.m. at East Foxhill Drive and East Champlain Drive when the motorcyclist collided into a tree, Fresno police spokesman Felipe Uribe said

Officers arrived and located the man, identified Tuesday by the coroner’s office as 27-year-old Jacob Lemay of Fresno, at the location.

Officers attempted life-saving measures before Lemay was taken to a local hospital where he died.

Uribe said Lemay might’ve been traveling at a high rate of speed in foggy conditions when he tried to make a curve and hit a tree.

It was the 54th traffic fatality in Fresno in 2021 and the 13th fatality involving a motorcycle, Uribe said.
