Valley woman pleads guilty to Social Security fraud. Feds say she stole her dead father’s money
A 58-year-old Lemoore woman pleaded guilty in federal court on Monday to stealing Social Security payments from her dead father.
The Social Security Administration was not notified when Deborah Rossoni’s father died and continued to direct deposit money info his bank account. Rossoni transferred that money into her own account and used it to pay for credit card bills and house repairs.
According to the Department of Justice, Rossoni stole $87,000 between July 2012 and July 2018.
In pleading guilty, the Rossoni agreed to pay full restitution to the Social Security Administration, according to a statement from the Justice Department. She is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 14 and faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
