Driver ID’d in deadly Fresno County crash. One car drove through a stop sign, CHP says
A Fresno man has been identified as the person killed in a crash that left another driver injured early Monday in rural Fresno County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The collision happened about 7:45 a.m. at Central and Temperance avenues, according to CHP Officer Traci Gallian.
A red Challenger was traveling south on Temperance approaching Central when the driver ran a stop sign, the CHP stated. The Challenger crashed into the side of a white pickup headed west.
The driver of the Challenger, identified Monday night as 63-year-old Richard Neil, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital, where he is being treated for a broken leg.
Alcohol or drugs do not seem to be a factor in the crash.
