Clovis man identified as motorcyclist killed in crash at busy Fresno intersection
A Clovis man was identified as motorcyclist who was killed in a high-speed crash early Sunday morning in northeast Fresno.
Demonte Captain Sr., 30, was the rider of a Yamaha sport bike killed in the collision at East Shaw and North Cedar avenues, the Fresno County Coroner said Monday.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. when Captain ran a red light while driving west on Shaw, police said. He then slammed into a vehicle towing a trailer containing band equipment, knocking the wheel off the trailer and snapping the forks completely off the motorcycle.
Westbound Shaw was shut down from Cedar for about one-half mile as the police Collision Reconstruction Unit processed the scene.
