Madera woman killed in crash on Highway 198. CHP has idea what contributed to cause
A 31-year-old Madera woman was killed in a single vehicle accident on Highway 198 in Visalia on Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Dorien M. Hernandez was traveling west in a 2006 Ford Expedition when the vehicle went off the road and into a dirt center median approaching Akers Street, began to overturn and came to a stop on the center guardrail.
Hernandez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene.
It is believed alcohol was a contributing factor in the 11:17 p.m. crash, according to a CHP report.
