Longtime Fresno Catholic school closes for good after 67 years. Tuesday was the final goodbye

Just as the Our Lady of Victory Catholic School staff said goodbye to students in May, many others did the same Tuesday to the beloved central Fresno school that operated for the past 67 years.

It was one final time for some of the faculty to walk through the building and reminisce through the years of the school, which taught pre-kindergarten through eighth grades at 1626 W. Princeton Ave.

The Diocese of Fresno decided in March to close the central Fresno school due to rising costs and declining enrollment.

The school hosted a parade at the campus on May 22 to thank supporters and honor the Class of 2020, as well as teachers and staff as the school year came to a close.

Our Lady of Victory Catholic School opened in 1951.

The “dream team” shared on Facebook on Tuesday pictures of the school and “wanted to wave a final goodbye” and “Thank you for all of the support and memories! #OnceARebelAlwaysARebel
