A wildfire caused significant damage to a Madera County home and destroyed another building on the property Saturday afternoon.

A total of 1.24 acres was burned in the area of the 45000 block of Penny Lane near Dollar Court Road in Coarsegold.

An outbuilding was destroyed and the nearby home suffered damage to the attic and a bedroom, according to the Madera County Fire Department.

The cause was unknown, but there were no injuries.

An evacuation warning alert was triggered, but no other damage was reported.
