Clovis man missing near Shaver Lake has been found alive, sheriff’s office announces

Fresno County rescuers have found a Clovis man who went missing near Shaver Lake earlier in the week.

Cody King had been missing since Wednesday after his car got stuck in the snow in the Dinkey Creek area. King, 24, was found uninjured Sunday around 10:30 a.m., according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

King, who was with his girlfriend when their car became stuck, left the car to look for help. But he did not return.

The Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team focused the search at Bald Mountain Pass, since a sheriff’s spokesman said a Pacific Gas and Electric Co. worker gave King a ride there Wednesday night to get cell service.

The sheriff’s office did not release further details on King’s return. A spokesman said investigators would speak with King to understand why he went missing.
