Fresno County search-and-rescue team looking for missing Clovis man near Dinkey Creek
Update: King was found alive on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020.
Original story: The Fresno County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team is searching the Dinkey Creek area near Shaver Lake for Cody King, 24, of Clovis.
King, who is 5-foot-11 and 150 pounds, drove to the area Wednesday with his girlfriend. Their vehicle became stuck in the snow and King hiked out for help.
Thursday morning, when he did not return, the girlfriend hiked out, reached a phone and called for help.
A sheriff’s spokesman said a PG&E worker gave King a ride Wednesday night to Bald Mountain Pass to get cell phone service. The search is focused there.
The sheriff’s office is discouraging efforts by King’s friends to form their own search party, because they could destroy evidence and also become lost.
Anyone with information about Cody King can call the Sheriff’s Office at 559-600-3111.
