Woman dies, two injured in Fresno County crash. Driver failed to stop, CHP says

A 56-year-old woman died Thursday morning in a two-car crash near Parlier.

The woman, who has not been identified pending family notification, was a passenger in a car that failed to stop at a sign at Dinuba and Zediker avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol. Another vehicle struck the car on the front passenger side. Both cars sustained major damage.

The woman was transported to Selma Hospital, where she died.

The driver of the car and another passenger were taken to local hospitals with moderate to major injuries. The driver of the second car was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Everyone was wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, the CHP said.

It has not been determined why the driver failed to stop, but drugs and alcohol are not suspected, the CHP reported. The cause ofhte collision remains under investigation.
