A fire that erupted in an attic in central Fresno Thursday morning displaced residents at the home, the Fresno Fire Department reported.

The blaze broke out a short time before noon near West Brown and North Tielman avenues, according to Battalion Chief Bob Camp.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke at the home but quickly brought the blaze under control. However, extensive repairs are needed and the Red Cross was called in to find the residents temporary shelter.
