Woman dies at Sanger packing house. Her clothes got caught in raisin processor

A 33-year-old woman died Friday morning in an industrial accident at a raisin packing facility in Sanger.

She was working at the Del Rey Packing Company’s dehydrator plant on Indianola Avenue when a piece of loose clothing got caught and she was pulled inside a piece of heavy machinery, according to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

Other employees immediately shut off the machine and called 911, but the woman died at the scene.

She was identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as Yaneth Lopez Valladares.

An investigator with OSHA was at the plant Friday and leading the investigation. The plant remained closed.

This was her second season working at the plant.
