National Weather Service issues brief tornado warning for area east of Fresno
A tornado warning has been issued for an area east of Fresno.
The National Weather Service sent the warning out around 3 p.m. Monday.
The initial warning was set to expire at 3:45 p.m. but was extended to 4:15 p.m.
The NWS allowed the warning to expire at that time, noting the storm had “weakened considerably in the last 10 minutes.”
The storm was just east of Sanger and moved northeast from there at 20 mph, according to the NWS.
Penny-sized hail is possible. Those in the path of this storm should seek shelter immediately.
