Detectives seek information on woman whose body was found in a Tollhouse creek
A woman found dead in a Tollhouse creek earlier this week has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as 59-year-old Cheryl Ann Raffeo.
The sheriff’s office received a call on Monday reporting an injured person in the 27200 block of Burrough North Road in Tollhouse. A resident noticed the woman’s body and immediately called law enforcement, Fresno sheriff’s Lt. Jose Salinas said in a news release.
Deputies arrived and confirmed a dead woman was in the water of the creek. Homicide detectives and the Crime Scene Unit responded as well since the circumstances of the woman’s death were unknown.
The coroner’s office conducted an autopsy on the woman on Tuesday but did not determine a cause of death. The coroner’s office is awaiting toxicology results to determine how Raffeo died.
Detectives are hoping to speak to anyone who may have seen or spoken to Raffeo, who frequented Fresno and Tollhouse, prior to her death.
