Fresno County coronavirus cases grow as Valley numbers climb – 103 new in Tulare County

Fresno County has 24 more COVID-19 cases – 1,287 in total, public health officials reported Tuesday afternoon.

That follows 103 new coronavirus cases and four more deaths reported in Tulare County earlier in the day.

No new Fresno County deaths were reported Tuesday, and that total remains at 17.

The majority of those testing positive in Fresno County are people between the age of 18 and 49 (673 people), followed by those between the age of 50 and 64 (310 people).

Of the Fresno County cases, three more were hospitalized (160 in total since the start of the pandemic) and 16 more have recovered (399 in all). The number of processed coronavirus tests also grew by 830 (total of 14,452).

COVID-19 across central San Joaquin Valley

Here are the latest coronavirus totals for other central San Joaquin Valley counties, as of Tuesday afternoon:

Tulare County: 1,539 cases (443 recovered) and 71 deaths.

Kings County: 416 cases (four new Tuesday), 135 recovered (11 new) and two deaths.

Madera County: 81 cases (three new Tuesday), 58 recoveries (two new) and two deaths.

Merced County: 222 cases (two new), 135 recovered (six new) and six deaths.

Mariposa County: 15 cases, 14 recovered and one death.

There are more than 3,550 coronavirus cases across the Valley of Fresno, Tulare, Madera, Kings, Merced and Mariposa counties.
