Tulare County has second coronavirus-related death. It’s the third for the Valley

A second person in Tulare County has died after testing positive for COVID-19.

The Tulare County Health and Human Serviced Agency announced the death Wednesday afternoon. The patient, who died Tuesday, had been exposed via travel.

“Public Health extends out deepest condolences to the patients family and friends,” Dr. Karen Haught, said in a news release. “Please protect youself and your loved ones by staying home.”

As of early Wednesday afternoon, Tulare County had 59 positive cases of the coronavirus, including two children under the age of 18. Three people have recovered.

This is the third coronavirus death in the central San Joaquin Valley: Jose Sanchez Barriga, 67, died in Madera County last week and Tulare County confirmed its first death two days later.
