A 25-year-old woman on a “rampage” inside a Target store threatened employees with a taser and pepper spray, California police reported.

Officers responded to a disturbance reported at the store at about 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, the Redding Police Department said in a news release.

They found the woman, also accused of taking a bottle of wine from the store, in her vehicle in the parking lot outside, police said.

Officers tried to de-escalate the standoff but the woman refused to comply or get out of her vehicle, police said.

She tried to drive away, so officers broke a window and pepper-sprayed her, police said. She was arrested without further incident.

The woman faces charges of robbery, threatening a peace officer, resisting arrest and public intoxication, police said.

Redding is about a 160-mile drive northwest from Sacramento.
