4.6 magnitude earthquake strikes near Lone Pine in east-central California
A 4.6 magnitude earthquake struck the area of Lone Pine on Monday evening.
According to the preliminary data from the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake struck around 5:25 p.m. with a depth of 2.3 miles in the east-central California region.
According to the USGS, the quake was closely followed by a 3.8-magnitude and 2.9-magnitude aftershocks.
Lone Pine is about 80 miles north of Ridgecrest.
