Randy’s Donuts is opening its Clovis location — and the grand opening involves free donuts.
Customers will get a free glazed donut at the popular regional chain donut shop from 6 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, Jan. 20.
The store is at 1195 Shaw Ave. in Clovis, in the former Rita’s Italian Ice spot across from Sierra Vista Mall. It’s in an outbuilding close to Shaw, between Toledo’s Mexican Restaurant and Andiamo Ristorante Italiano.
The first 100 customers in line will also get Randy’s T-shirt.
The shop’s regular hours will be 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
The Southern-California based donut shop has been hotly anticipated in the Fresno area. Randy’s original location is in Inglewood, with a 32-foot tall donut atop the roof. It’s been featured in multiple movies and TV shows, including “Iron Man 2,” where Robert Downey Jr. chomps a donut while sitting in the middle of the giant one on the roof.
This will be Randy’s third location in the area. The first opened in April at 2369 E. Shaw Ave. across from Fresno State.
The last to open will be the location at the northeast corner of Palm and Bullard avenues. It’s been in the works for months behind the car wash.
It’s scheduled to open this summer, according to a Randy’s representative.
