Whether you’re sick of cooking for the holidays or just want the comfort of some familiar Kung Pao chicken, Chinese food is always there for you.

Literally almost always. As in, on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The kind folks at Chinese restaurants often keep their doors open while most restaurants close. Here are 10 places to check out in Fresno and Clovis that are open both days. Be sure to tip well since they are not spending the holiday relaxing with their families.

Chinese restaurants in Fresno, Clovis

Chan’s Cedar Chinese Food

Where: 3333 N. Cedar Ave., Fresno.

Chan’s is a little, laid-back place in southeast Fresno with a reputation for good food. It’s open 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

China Station

Where: 1768 E. Barstow Ave., Fresno.

This to-go spot in Bulldog Plaza near Fresno State is perfect for students and others in the neighborhood. It will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Ding Ho Kitchen

Where: 3022 W. Bullard Ave, Fresno.

The popular little Ding Ho Kitchen in northwest Fresno does mostly to-go food and is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Four Seasons Chinese Restaurant

Where: 342 N. Clovis Ave., #101, Clovis.

The top-rated Chinese restaurant by Yelp.com in Clovis, Four Seasons has a little bit of everything, including Cantonese dim sum. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Great Wall Chinese Cuisine

Where: 1785 Herndon Ave, Suite 109, Clovis.

Great Wall has a big dining room and menu, which includes Sichuan cuisine.

It’s open regular hours, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Imperial Garden

Where: The original Imperial Garden is at 6640 N Blackstone Ave., Fresno.

Often lauded as the best Chinese restaurant in town, this place will be open from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Christmas Eve and the same hours on Christmas Day.

Its lesser-known, cozy second location is at 6716 N. Cedar Ave. in Fresno, tucked away in the breezeway near R-N Market. It’s open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Jimy Wen’s

Where: 7065 N. Cedar Ave., Fresno.

A small restaurant with history in the neighborhood, Jimy Wen’s will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Mark’s Kitchen

Where: 4828 E. Belmont Ave., Fresno.

Mark’s is the restaurant that went viral on TikTok for its sassy and foul-mouthed owner and huge portions. It’s open 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Christmas Day.

Ming’s

Where: 1414 N. Van Ness Ave., Fresno.

Ming’s is a Tower District classic. Its chow mein and orange chicken are popular.

It’s open Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m and Christmas Day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

New City Chinese Cuisine

Where: 1484 E Shaw Ave., Fresno.

Not far from Fresno State and known for its dim sum, New City will be open Christmas Eve from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Christmas Day, 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Imperial Garden #2 serves authentic Chinese food, as well as dishes that have been Americanized to appeal to a variety of people. Among the dishes offered is the classic wonton soup, which comes with vegetables and wontons in a tasty broth.
