Fresno Ag hardware store will open its second location – this one in Clovis – Thursday.

The new store is at the southeast corner of Herndon and Clovis avenues, in The Trading Post Shopping Center.

The grand opening event starts at 3 p.m. and the store will be open afterward.

Fresno Ag has been around for 147 years. Its unique brand of enthusiastic employees decided to not do a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony.

Instead, CEO and general manager Ian Williams will use a chainsaw to cut a 2x4 board in half to commemorate the opening.

The 10,000-square-foot store will have the same departments as the Fresno store: grills and smokers, electrical, plumbing, lawn and garden, paint and hard-to-find items.

It also carries the popular frozen version of the Country Fair Cinnamon Rolls served at the Big Fresno Fair.

The existing store on Gettysburg Avenue in Fresno will remain open.

It was recently remodeled.
