Jimy Wen’s, a Chinese restaurant in northeast Fresno, is temporarily closed.

The family behind the restaurant was in a car accident recently and the “lifeblood” of the business, Karen Wen, is still recovering, according to a social media post by the restaurant.

“The restaurant will be temporarily closed as Karen is the lifeblood of it and we can not continue without her. Please keep her in your prayers,” the post on Facebook said.

The family — Jim, Karen and daughter Hana — were on their way to the restaurant at Herndon and Cedar avenues April 21 when they got into an accident, the post said. Jimy and Hana are well, but Karen is still in a rehabilitation hospital and it’s unclear when she’ll be released.

The restaurant has a loyal following and gets glowing reviews on Yelp.com, including mentions of “super nice” Karen.

Customers responded to the restaurant’s Facebook post with an outpouring of well wishes, several of them asking how they can help.

The family was not immediately available for comment.
