A popular chain restaurant opens its first Fresno location with a drive-thru this week
The first Chipotle restaurant with a drive-thru in northwest Fresno opens Wednesday.
The restaurant is at the southeast corner of Herndon and Brawley avenues, in the same shopping center as Tractor Supply Co.
The “Chipotlane” — the term the company uses for its drive-thrus — is not a traditional drive-thru, however.
Instead of just pulling up like you’re at a McDonald’s and ordering every ingredient in your burrito bowl (which could take a while), the Chipotlane is only for picking up orders made online.
Customers order from the Mexican-inspired menu ahead of time. Instead of walking into the restaurant to get their order, they can now pull up through the Chipotlane and get their food without leaving their cars.
Diners can also order the old fashioned way inside the restaurant.
It will be open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Free stuff
To celebrate, Chipotle is offering some freebies to customers.
The first five people in line at the restaurant will receive free Chipotle Goods merchandise. That’s Chipotle’s line of clothing, hats and accessories.
Guests who sign up for Chipotle’s rewards program will also get free chips and guacamole after their first purchase.
Hiring
Chipotle is also still hiring employees. Each new Chipotle location brings an average of 25 jobs, according to the company.
Benefits include access to bonuses, a debt-free college program, English-as-a-second-language classes and mental health care for employees and their families.
Interested applicants can apply online at chipotle.com/careers.
Details: The new Chipotle is at 6702 N. Brawley Ave. Hours: 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
