With so many thrift shops opening in Fresno and Clovis lately, we thought we’d poll readers about what they think is the best thrift shop in town.
We had a clear winner: The Assistance League Thrift Shop at 4771 N. Blackstone Ave., between Gettysburg and Shaw avenues, got 64% of the vote.
Hours: The thrift shop is closed Mondays through Wednesdays. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.
The store is run by an all-volunteer nonprofit organization. It funds at least six philanthropic programs, including providing school kids with clothes, teddy bears to kids who have experienced trauma, and free prom dresses for foster kids.
In fact, all the thrift shops that ranked in the top five support some kind of cause. That likely factored into their votes as most aren’t the biggest shops around.
Here’s a look at who else rounded out the list.
