The long-awaited first Fresno location of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has an opening date.

The coffee shop will open Saturday, Jan. 29 in the Park Crossing shopping center at Friant Road and Fresno Street. The coffee shop is near the corner, next to Mechanics Bank, in the same center as Heirloom and Trader Joe’s.

The shop’s hours haven’t been posted yet, but most locations open at 5:30 a.m.

A second location is also headed for the Madera area.

It’s scheduled to open in mid February and is inside a new truck stop, Refresh Travel Plaza, at the northwest corner of Avenue 7 and Highway 99.

That location will have the full menu of drinks, but limited food. It’s in a food court that is in the process of opening in the travel station, with a Shell station and convenience store.

The food court area will also have an Indian restaurant called Curry Naan Stop, Fatburger & Buffalo’s Express, Pizza Hut, KFC, Yogurtland and Cinnabon.

Most are not open yet, but the Indian restaurant, KFC and Cinnabon are scheduled to open later this week.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

The coffee shop has been highly anticipated by Fresnans. After Trader Joe’s, it was the second most-requested business at the center, developer and shopping center owner Harold Zinkin said.

The Bee originally reported that The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf had signed a lease back in 2019. The coffee shop said it had hoped to open last year, but the pandemic and supply chain issues delayed it a bit, according to a representative.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is known for its signature Ice Blended drink made with espresso in flavors like mocha, vanilla, caramel, and cookies and cream. A caffeine-free version is available for kids.

The menu also has cold brew coffee, espresso-based drinks like lattes, teas and more.
